How to Ban a Player from Your Valheim Server

If you need to remove a player from your server permanently, you can ban them using their SteamID64.

Step 1: Get the Player's SteamID64

You need the unique SteamID64 of the player you want to ban.

  1. Go to a website like steamid.io.

  2. Find the player's Steam profile and paste the URL into the search box.

  3. Copy the steamID64 number. It will look like this: 76561198012345678.

Step 2: Add the Player to the Banned List

  1. Log in to the game panel (game.valuegamenode.com) and select your server.

  2. Navigate to the "File Manager".

  3. Go to the folder: /.config/unity3d/IronGate/Valheim/.

  4. Find the file named bannedlist.txt. If it doesn't exist, create it using the "New File" button.

  5. Click to edit the file.

  6. Paste the player's SteamID64 into the file. If you are banning multiple players, add each SteamID64 on a new line.

  7. Click "Save Content".

  8. Restart the server for the ban to take effect.

The player will no longer be able to connect to your server.
