If your Minecraft server fails to start and shows the error Error: Unable to access jarfile server.jar
in the console, it typically means the main server file (server.jar
) is missing. This often occurs on a new server where a game version hasn't been installed yet.
You can fix this by following these steps:
-
In your game panel, go to the "Versions" tab.
-
Select the server type you want to run (e.g., Vanilla, Paper, Spigot) and the specific version from the list.
-
Click the Install button. The system will now download and set up the necessary files for you.
-
After the installation is complete, go back to the console and start your server.
This will resolve the error and your server will start normally.
