How to Upload an Existing World to Your Valheim Server

Admin 13

This guide explains how to upload a world you've played in single-player to your dedicated server, allowing you to continue your progress with friends.

Step 1: Locate Your Local World Files

First, you need to find your world files on your computer.

  1. Open Windows File Explorer.

  2. In the address bar, type %appdata% and press Enter. This will take you to the Roaming folder.

  3. Navigate one level up to the AppData folder and then go into LocalLow.

  4. The full path is: C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\AppData\LocalLow\IronGate\Valheim\worlds_local

  5. In this folder, you will find your world files. For a world named "MyWorld", you will see at least two files: MyWorld.db and MyWorld.fwl.

Step 2: Upload the World Files to the Server

  1. Log in to the game panel: Go to game.valuegamenode.com.

  2. Select your Valheim server and navigate to the "File Manager".

  3. Go to the correct folder for worlds: /.config/unity3d/IronGate/Valheim/worlds_local.

  4. Drag and drop your world files (e.g., MyWorld.db and MyWorld.fwl) from your computer into this folder.

Step 3: Configure the Server to Use the New World

  1. Navigate to the "Startup" tab in the panel.

  2. Find the "World Name" field.

  3. Enter the exact name of your world into this field (e.g., MyWorld). Do not include the file extension (.db or .fwl).

  4. Go to the "Console" page and "Restart" your server.

The server will now load your uploaded world.
